Sad Days...

The last few weeks have been such a crazy time for us. We have been preparing for Stuart to be deployed. Getting new equipment, Boots, running shoes, and spending as much time as possible together. On May 16Th he set out for his great adventure on the other side of the world in a fantastic never ending beach, minus the water... He will be spending the next 6 months in a very warm, sunny location... with giantic Spiders..
Here are a few pictures from the BBQ we had a few days before they left.

A very nice company in Utah donated the BBQ for the troops leaving,

Stuart and Sam at the BBQ, Emily was too busy on the playground convincing older kids to push her on the swings to get any pictures
The morning the guys left, we had to be to the base at 5am, way too early if you ask me but then again, I wasn't asked... We had one of the local news teams out asking questions and we did have the General over all Utah national Guard out to wish them well. We were allowed to go with the guy to the actual gates to say good bye, i want to thank the Airport and TSA for allowing us to spend those precious extra minutes with our soldiers.

All the guys getting the bags loaded on the Truck

The Family just before he got on the plane, and don't forget this was at 5am so passes are given for appearance.

I love my man in Uniform!
Such a daddy's boy!
We love you daddy!
Then he was off, after many tears and hugs from other wives, we left for our day. Stuart left for a short stay in Norfolk, VA and was so excited to be able to meet up with one of his brother's and his wife. Allen and Erin were down for a wedding, the timing was perfect. They were able to spend Saturday together touring Navy ships and having lunch together... Thank you! That day meant a lot to him... The last I was able to speak to him he was just leaving Iceland... We sure love you and can't wait to see you. My goal is to be much more diligent at updating this blog so he can feel closer to home. Many posts may be boring to some but we want to keeps daddy up to date.

Cute pictures. And you all look great for 5am. How long will he be gone for? Thank goodness for blogs so he can sort of keep in touch.
